Letter from the President
Greetings,
Thank you to all of the members of the INIAI for giving me the opportunity to serve as your 2023 President! I served as a board member in 2022 and look forward to launching into my new role.
I was hired by the City of Fishers as a police officer in 2017 and currently am a Criminal Forensic Investigator responsible for major crime scene investigations, processing evidence in our lab for fingerprints and DNA, assisting with the management of our property room, and training new crime scene investigators.
I am a Certified Crime Scene Investigator through the International Association for Identification and the University of Tennessee. I had the opportunity to attend the National Forensic Academy (the world-famous body farm!) in Spring 2022.
It has been a busy year for Fishers! The Fishers Police Department’s Forensic Laboratory is the first in the state to implement Rapid DNA, a technology that can generate a DNA profile in 90 minutes to provide immediate results for investigators. We are thrilled to use Rapid DNA to assist other agencies in Indiana to fight crime!
The best part of my job is using evidence (a fingerprint on a gun the suspect said he has NEVER touched, a DNA match from a suspect that has sworn he has NEVER been in a burglarized house, etc.) to ensure that a crime doesn’t just end in an arrest, but a conviction.
The INIAI 2023 Conference planning is well underway; we have several exceptional speakers lined up already! I am thrilled to bring the conference this fall to the Fishers Police Department located at 4 Municipal Drive, Fishers October 11th through 13th 2023.
Congratulations to the 2022 INIAI Board for the exemplary conference hosted in Lafayette last year—we hope to make 2023’s conference just as captivating!
A huge thank you to Kacie Proffitt (Board Chair), Kaitlin Reed (Vice President/Editor), Mallory Webb (Secretary/Treasurer), Allyson Connell (Board Member), Brittney Raper (Board Member), Lana Howard (Board Member), and Jenna Burow (Board Member) for all their hard work thus far and continued efforts throughout the year.
Our member appreciation night will be hosted at Top Golf. Hotel accommodations are currently being researched. Check back for more information coming soon!
If you have any ideas for speakers or have any questions please reach out.
We look forward to seeing you this fall!
Respectfully,
Matthew Noyes
